If I recall correctly, Manyverse had this and removed it, for simplicity. I do believe it requires delicate platform-specific code and only gives a marginal benefit - if you're already talking in person and configuring your bluetooth settings, maybe somebody just sets their phone up as a hotspot temporarily, and the existing LAN discovery just works?

I like the idea and want to keep this open, but it feels like it will be pretty low priority for now.
